If there is a link then the security services will be the ones to find it, and i do think it was a bit premature of the papers, and BBC to come out and say there is a definite link, wait and see would be my stance. Some people would like it to be, so they can point a finger and say see i told you so.

I didn't read into the messages that he had acted in conjunction with the EDL or any others - maybe I read it wrong.

But rather there were links

Ideological links, communications, sharing of ideas etc. probably all inhabiting the same web-sites the way we all do.

I think the reports (at least the ones I saw) made clear that he claimed to have links but that they hadn't been proved. Links these days can mean Facebook rather than training camps.

Your link just says he acted alone, it does not say he didn't have contact with other like minded far right individuals in Norway or other countries. It is known he lived in London as a child and it is also known he came here for the visit of Wilders. He claims to have met EDL members and others on that trip. EDL members have said they met him and he was a nice bloke.

So No, the media haven't jumped on a band wagon.

If you have the stomach to read through some of the ramblings on here, you'll find edl members discussing their 'relationships' with Anders Breivik.

This link was provided by 'Safiya' and I would echo her disclaimer, that it makes particularly unpleasant reading. It makes robust use of the Anglo-Saxon language, in addition to showing some unhealthy viewpoints.......
And all provided by edl supporters themselves, I found it, if not exactly illuminating, certainly it confirmed what I have long thought about such groups and their aims/agendas.

i read it as he does have links and associations with them, but that nobody within those organisations helped him to carry out this particular atrocity.

it depends what you mean by 'links' and what you mean by 'evidence'.

Breivik's claims are evidence. Kristiansen hasn't been able to find any *corroborative* evidence that might show he was telling the truth. Perhaps they will still do so, perhaps not. But I would have thought the media were well within their rights reporting his claims, even if they prove to be false in the end (as I suspect they will be).

It does seem from other posts on this thread that he was in contact with British rightwingers. Whether that is the same as 'links' is a matter for debate.
