Should this family be forced to accept this racist and bigoted attitude off their fellow Muslims?

/// A Coventry Police spokesman said they received an allegation from the family on July 20 and are investigating the matter. ///

It would be interesting to see what action the police will take when they have finally investigated the case.

Of course bigotry in all its forms is abhorrant, and the individuals involved should be prosecuted.

Baret - to comply with your suggestion would be to allow the bigots of their faith to win, which is surely no answer.

The family should be free to dress and worship as they choose - even if this includes marrying someone of another faith. I hardly think that a change in dress is going to help the family to 'blend in', given their congenital albinosim.

It has nothing to do with Religion but more to do with people who have mixed cultures with religion. First of all it is police's job to catch and punish those who are interfering into someone else's matter.

But then comes the input from likes of Birdie who either knows a little bit too much about Islam (at least he believes that) or he has no idea what Islam is about. Marrying a Christian is girl’s personal matter. This has nothing to do with apostasy and Islam does not say that apostasy should be punished with death. Now I do not want to change this question as all this has been debated before but if someone's memory needs updating then post another question about Islam, Apostasy and death as a result.

Oh dear I dared to question your lack of intelligence, because you seemed you were intelligent enough to assume my question was "A RIDICULOUS QUESTION"

And it is my reply to this insult that is removed, is there no justice?

AOG. Please refrain from insulting other users.

Despite your protests you are an agitator.

Show some respect and restraint.
Ankou criticised the question, not the questioner. You made a personal attack. Do you understand the difference AOG?

Since you have took it upon yourself to accuse me personally of being an agitator, perhaps you would care to trace and discipline some of the real agitators on AnswerBank.

If you have not the time or inclination, I would only be too pleased to furnish you with evidence of how all the agitation starts and by whom.

I know that you do not 'bat' for my side of politics, and the one's you defend also don't, but as I have said before a person in your position should be seen to be impartial and fair to all ABers.
AOG - you no longer debate. You just insult people for not agreeing with you.
AOG, I enforce Site Rules. Stick to them and you'll be fine.
Although I do agree with others that this question had answered itself but it involves Muslims or Islam so for that reason let it carry on. Because every one has something to contribute when it comes to Islam or Muslims. That does make me whole heartedly happy and I am being honest about that.
Keyplus:

You state, “... and Islam does not say that apostasy should be punished with death...”

Whist I am aware that there is some lively debate within 'scholarly' Islamic circles about whether apostasy is punishable by death (or even at all), I expect that the waters of debate are somewhat muddied by the following quotes...

Koran (4:89) - "They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them"

Koran (9:11-12) - "But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge. And if they break their pledges after their treaty (hath been made with you) and assail your religion, then fight the heads of disbelief - Lo! they have no binding oaths - in order that they may desist."

Bukhari (52:260) - "...The Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "

Bukhari (84:57) - "[In the words of] Allah's Apostle, 'Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.'"

Given that the above are quotes translated into English, there will always be some variation about certain words and phrasings. However, it is clear that in the Koran, there is written evidence to suggest that apostates should be killed. In the Hadith written by Bukhari, the punishment for apostasy is unequivocal.

Even if you dispute the above quotes (which I expect you will), every Muslim I have ever spoken to on this issue believes that it is a sin to leave the Islamic faith. And I think we all know the very dim view that is taken by the religious of those who commit sin.
its fun to quote things isn't it... a few bible quotes anyone

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." Matthew 10:34

"Whoever sacrifices to any god other than the LORD must be destroyed." Exodus 22:20

"All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman." 2 Chronicles 15:12

"If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the LORD gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the LORD your God in violation of his covenant, and contrary to my command has worshipped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars of the sky,and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly. If it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, take the man or woman who has done this evil deed to your city gate and stone that person to death" Deuteronomy 17:2-5
Well said Birdie and Iggy!! the problem is with these religious sorts is they will read other things into these quotes to justify their beliefs.

Many or these so called "believers" have never actually challenged their beliefs or have absolutely no idea what atrocities are written the bible carried out in the name of this so called God.

When I have quoted passages from the bible about these dreadful things to people they have replied "it doest say that in my bible" Have they read their Bible!! No not a word.

I have never even seen a film or read a book with as much killing and destruction of innocent people as that carried by this so called God as written in the Bible!!

And most religions entrap their followers by basically saying believe and follow me or be killed!!

Why so many people fall for this clap trap confuses me beyond belief.
