Knowing how the traders behave the yoofs may have more than the old bill to contend with there !

We have got a large Currys and a large PC World. I need a new laptop.
Have all the coppers in Hastings (there's probably about 6 of them) gone up to help in London? O dear!

It's a nice day today down here on the south coast - send them down to the beach and give them ice creams laced with something nasty.
I'd do a clear up if it happened in my neighbourhood em, unlike you I can't think of any reason not to.
Plenty of overtime for the Police and Council Workers - it's an ill-wind ...
Don't think there's as many as 6. Perhaps they'll all fancy a nice swim later. They're too late to burn down the pier anyway, that was done last year.
That's my thought Zeuhl. I know they have sent teams from Thames Valley Police to London so are we in the TV area now going to be faced with opportunists who know there are significantly less police to stop them tonight.

But then what other choice do the police have.
"but just reading on FB that a load of rioters have arrived in Hastings by train." Jan none of the rioters travelled anywhere as they all live in the areas they rioted in so these "travellers" may just be a figment of the fb users imagination or maybe a disinformational ploy to get the police in all the wrong areas so that the rioters/looters can really hit hard tonight.
because believe it or not, many police cordon off areas, and so you couldn't get to them, and no i still wouldn't do it. I am not clearing up the crap left by these people, let them be made to do it, though that is unlikely to happen.
..on the otherhand it may also be true
Cazzz1975, the looters/rioters do so in their areas as they know the areas/alleys and layout better than the police, this makes it easy to get to/get away from their target as well as easier for them to transport stolen goods home. Travelling hundreds of miles on train to a foreign area where you don't know the area, can't get home until the first train and can't transport stolen goods anywhere is an idea too ridiculous to conceive.
many police officers already come from outside London to work here in the capital, info from a police officer recently. Some come from quite a long distance away, seemed suprising to me, but there you are.
That's different thought Em. They are taking police form different forces to help. Not police that already work for London forces
Officers from here in Sussex are up there now.
the news reports keeps on about 16,000 or so officers on the streets, shame we didn't have this, when it all kicked off.
Actually wrong3 a lot of people that were arrested and have appeared in court today gave addresses out of London. They were also not unemployed, one was a youth worker, one was a graphic designer, others university graduates. Just all complete ar*eholes.
our staff social in the city centre has now been postponed.

this is pc elf and safety gone mad.
Jan1957 succinctly put.
"Actually wrong3 a lot of people that were arrested and have appeared in court today gave addresses out of London." Aah those with families and friends in london and were staying with them maybe, but you said that a train full was going to hastings! Who'd leave london for a night of rioting in the country? No one.
Dammit, now ive to apologise to ummmm, for being willing to bet that none of them had a job Jan, thanks alot, lol.
Mindless morons!
