Would they have coped?

Is nothing sacred in Britain today?
I wonder how the over indulged low life, who committed these acts of vandalism, on a London blitz memorial, would have coped all those years ago, when the peoples of London and other towns cities and villages in Britain were driven into these air raid shelters, to endure many hours of bombing, night after night, after night.
Perhaps if they had equally suffered such life threatening experiences, they may have developed into much better human beings than they obviously are today?

I'm sure many don't AOG, a lot of people don't know where cities are in the UK let alone in foreign parts, some people don't even know how far away the places are when they go on foreign holidays.
Despicable though it is to vandalise these memorials, I find that they are meaningless now to so many - I was born just after the second world war, things which happened seventy years ago mean nothing to the current young generation. War games are a fact of life to them, they have no idea about the deprivation and hardship our parents went through for today's free life.

/// why even your own parents thought you were degenerates for listening to rock and roll.///
Why do you assume I would listen to Rock and Roll?
The Big Band and Crooners are my cup of tea.
Music, instrumentalists, lyric and song writers, came to an end when Rock and Roll came onto the 'music' scene.

They wrote "Kill the Brits" and there were Asian names scribbled as well. My guess is that they know exactly where Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq are, and are aware of the number of civilians they Brits have mistakenly killed.
I have called the action a disgrace, and distasteful, so I am hardly fence sitting.

Your veiled show of disgrace, and distastefulness, would have been accepted as more genuine, if it had not also included your following passage:
/// They wrote "Kill the Brits" and there were Asian names scribbled as well. My guess is that they know exactly where Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq are, and are aware of the number of civilians they Brits have mistakenly killed.///
In your reasoning then Gromit, it would be quite acceptable then for our kids to scrawl on their mosque walls, "kill all the Middle Easterners", seeing that they have 'purposely' (not mistakenly) killed some of our military as well as our civilians?

Gromit the blitz and the hardship Britain suffered were a great deal more than what you perceive is happening to the mosques now, they are a modern feature on our skyline. Had Herr Hitler been around today you would have been jumping jihads all over the place.
The desecration of our war memorials are an example of the depth of depravity some of our youths today will stoop. They are woefully lacking respect and decency.

Gomit you are like certain others like Keyplus on AB . Saddam and the Taliban are proud of you . They kill and torture to the point that most of the world including the Arab League vote for action against them and when we take it you use that as an excuse to comdem us . Cheering and jeering at our men's funerals . 9/11 and 7/7 are all OK in your eyes . It's OK for Saddam to gas and massacre his own people . OK for the Taliban to behead their hostages but if we accidently kill some civilians then thats an excuse for mindless violence.

This wasn't a war memorial it was a recent 'sculpture' in peace garden. There were no names of any dead eastenders on this structure, it didn't commemorate any specific incident. I do not equate the suffering of Londoners in the blitz with someone breaking a mosques' window, but I do not consider any hate crime, be it scrawling 'Kill the Brits' or attacking a mosque, as acceptable, trivial or unworthy of condemnation.

Gromit // Perhaps if we were not killing large numbers of civilians in the the middle east, they might not do this distasteful damage. //
We the Mullahs salute you . George Gallagher salutes you, Gaddafi sends his greetings, Muhammad PBUH awaits you.
The Libyian rebels think you are talking a load of c...p.
