I don`t think her case is any pronouncement on American obesity though. To be fair, the article did say that the previous fattest person was from Ipswich. I`m surprised her medical insurance people have anything to do with her though. Her premiums must be through the roof.

Barney, that's exactly what I was thinking. That food bill must cost an absolute fortune and, when there's starving children in the world, it all becomes a bit sick. What kind of an example is she setting to her two young boys? She says they have a "normal" diet but, lets be honest, the one looks a bit podgy in the face. What an awful role model!

As for the comment about her attracting men. Great! lets all just sit back and stuff our faces with thousands of calories, so we become so fat and repulsive that we can hardly move and our children have to care for us. But hey, it doesn't matter 'cos at least men will still find us attractive! Wow, never really thought of it like that.
They have Slimming World in the states, right? She should be forced to sign up for that, before she needs surgery which she won't have to pay for.
Saying that, Slimming World doesn't work for everyone. Some people just can't help themselves...

I think she is just crying out for attention, she desperately needs help, this is the only way to get recognition and earn some money at the same time, i don't really think she wants to die.

People handle these problems in very different ways, I think her coping strategy is about the worst it could be.

I bet if she was given a realistic opportunity to become a normal weight she would jump at it.

I feel desperately sorry for this Woman and her family.
