Are potential black football managers being discriminated against by some clubs, and should clubs be forced to interview at least one black person when seeking a manager?
Well here goes: I personally find positive discrimination, affirmative action, quotas etc as the most blatant form of racism. Employment should be based on qualifications of the person applying regardless of colour, creed etc.
There are many skillful black players in English football but for some reason they are not being employed in managing roles once their playing days are over. The suspicion is that they are being discriminated against. The quota does not obligate a club has to employ a certain number of black people, it just means one shoyld be interviewed. If they are not suitable for the job, then no harm done.
Gromit, I stand by my post. And why should they even be interviewed when they do not meet the criteria - thus denying a qualified candidate a chance of an interview.
