I remember at work in 1987 phoning someone in Sevenoaks who told me it was now sadly renamed as "Oneoak!" - amazing pictures from the "hurricane"

Don't think we're going to get it down South. I do remember 1987 very well though.
We're expecting it tomorrow morning in the SE.

beautiful down here in the SW and then suddenly zap, two almost tropical down pours dumping water everywhere for a few minutes - most bizarre - back to the sunshine now.
haha thanks Dr F :0))
yes, Dr F, and the French Met, using our data, got the call right - there were heavy gale force winds in Paris that night and with the hurricane force winds in the Channel, the bell tower at Caen fell down, having been there since the 10th Century.
Bit blowy at the minute in NW, supposed to be bad tomorrow with floods in various parts of the north.
I bit breezy and very dull in Durham.
