Apparently the girls spend a half an hour on average apply their make up at school so the Head has taken these steps

eh???
The introduction of compulsory wearing of the Burkha is the obvious solution.
I'm struggling to understand how this 'story' even made it into the news.
The school had a "discreet make-up" rule in place, but nobody took any notice of it. They then boarded up the mirrors, but the girls found a way to uncover them.
These girls are rebels! lol!

I think make-up on school kids not only looks terrible, but is completely unnecessary.

Maybe they should be writing home to the parents.

A lot of the young women I see appear to have applied their make-up without recourse to a mirror...........otherwise they would surely see what the rest of us do?!?

It'll be interesting to see how this develops. In the school where I taught, girls got away with murder, as did female staff. The uniform stated "school trousers" but the girls interpreted that as spray-on trousers and nothing happened, when some boys wore cargo pants, they were sent home! Ditto staff, some female staff wore clothing more suited to a night out, including bare mid-riffs at the extreme, men were told to wear ties and could not remove them whatever the weather. As a female staff governor, I took the men's grievances to the Head who wouldn't budge about ties, but when the subject of female standards was raised he became very cagey, it would be "sexist" to enforce standards!

It's just another example of today's general breakdown of discipline.

If the wearing of make-up at school are the school's rule, then it should be strictly enforced, if a few were made a strict example of, then others would soon get the message.

One pupil was stated as saying:

“We do it for our own confidence. We have to do presentations and I don’t want to stand up in front of the class without make-up on".

Can you believe this, I wonder how the boys manage?
