i mean of course she deserves her punishment, but this, for many, could scar them for life couldnt it?

Who is she and what's she done to get community service? Maybe the judge is thinking the punishment should fit the crime.

According to the Sun article, she could have had a less unpleasnt time doing volunteer work at a women's refuge but failed to do so in breach of her probation conditions. So she cannot really complain at a harsher penalty now.
