How is this allowed to happen in this day and age?

There's a paragraph that claims a 6th former (16/17- right?) hasn't eaten for 3 days!

Surely even the poorest family could cobble 40p together to buy a reduced loaf from a supermarket?

That still doesn't address the 'claw-back' setting which many on low incomes find themselves facing, though, EDDIE.....and not everyone is able to have the cheap night rate, either.

Prepay meters can now be on a tariff that is as low as the cheapest alternate method of payment. You need to be on benefits to get it but it is there for the asking.
