I'm struggling to understand some people's perception of what is right, do we want countries to happily accept the cultures of those coming to live in that country, or do we want robustly conservative countries that insist any visitors play by their rules. Some people seem to want both and neither at the same time!
My understanding of Sharia Law is very limited so I won't pass judgement, I would have though though that it's not the completely rigid law that we're being made to assume.

Note he says "basic source" not introduction of - he's implying that there won't be a strict interpretation of Sharia - which is good news

If they democratically opt to go that path, then that is their choice. If they later conclude it wasn't the best option then hopefully they will have the ability to make changes at that time. Hopefully peacefully. All cultures are in transition. It usually takes a while to remove religious influence from a government.

It isn't irrelevant what they want, but polygamy doesn't suit women, only men. If they make it law, then the repercussions for women do not bear thinking about.

it has nothing to do with what it costs, its the fact that many do it. Often against the women's will. If you are widowed, its looked upon as something shameful, better to be in a marriage with a polygamous man, than be on your own, without a man's protection, or so i read.

It is marvellous how some of the 'Anti-Daly Mail Brigade' will scrutinise ever word their dreaded newspaper prints, to try and come up with something that they think fits their own particular agenda.

Do they think everyone is thick, even if one uses the Mail's great links, they are far from thick, perhaps it's those others, who would wish to belittle them.

Almost the first line of the report said,

No 'appalling piece of Mail-ism' there just the facts, but still some don't like to witness the facts when they are printed for all to see, they would rather see them brushed under the carpet, out of sight.

The Daily Mail, and indeed Mr Jabril, are slightly premature with this. Mr Jibril is unlikely to be leading Libya after elections take place.
Who knows what will happen.
MAny devout Moslems in Libya have been prevented from practising their religion in the Gaddafi years and that aspect must be taken into account when assessing what Mr Jibril is saying.

In particular I'm interested in the following words of wisdom from the DM:
"The sudden lurch by a country seen as very moderate towards Islamic extremism..."
"Seen as very moderate, eh". That statement would intrigue a lot of "ordinary Libyans"
