Peace in Europe should not be taken for granted......
According to the front page of the Express Angie reckons war is a possibility. Is this the twist and shouts declaring early or more hysteria?

what she said
“Another half century of peace and prosperity in Europe is not to be taken for granted. If the euro fails, Europe fails. We have a historical obligation: To protect by all means Europe’s unification process begun by our forefathers after centuries of hatred and blood spill. None of us can foresee what the consequences would be if we were to fail."
And that's just the Express version (and shonky translation, I suspect). She just says war is never impossible. Pretty much a truism.

The Hun are still a danger.
If we withdraw from europe and stop buying their cars and trains they'll invade and force us to drive vw's at gunpoint.
Never mind the Dagoes and Froggies.
Seriously, my late father who was of the WW2 generation always said whatever else we think of the european union, don't underestimate its value as a way of making wars within europe less likely.

that is so the eurosceptics tow the party line. You can hear them now, "look if we don't all belong to one strong group, lets call it the European Union, then
as like as not, we will go to war, just as we did in 1914-1918 and 1939-1945, now we wouldn't want that to happen again, so lets all be pals together and we won't have to fight no more. Rollocks
