I prefer my MPs to be decently paid; otherwise the only people able to enter parliament will be wealthy Eton old boys who know nothing of voters' lives. But I'm not fussed what ministers are paid: if they think the rate for the job is too low, they don't have to take the job.

On a salary of £63000+ its about 6%, but then its all relative. 6% to average Joe public is probably about £1500. The only difference is that Joe public doesn't get the same holidays and has to turn up every day not just when he feels like it or gets whipped and lets not go down the expenses/receipts route
