Facebook could have been sold to Google for $5billion. He decided to say NO. Now Google have brought out their own version Google+ and will be in competition with Facebook. Has Mark Zuckerbberg made an enormous mistake?

yep
No.
Given that he's personally worth an estimated $17.5 Billion, I don't think he'll be too concerned.
Maybe
I like the wide range of opinions you get on here.

Yes and no.
From what i've read about Mark Zuckerbburg, money really doesn't feature that much in his life.

Face book is his 'baby', I can understand why he'd want to hang on to it.
I blame Clarkson...
It depends on why he turned it down. He may have stacks tucked away and it is just a play thing now.
lol Snags...

Did anyone watch the Facebook programme last night?
What's $5billion when you've made 20. No contest - he'll float on the stock exchange soon and make another few billion too.

Not that he's had a penny piece from me. Well as far as I know!

So the $17bn ... he's what ... given it away?

No?

Really?

Oddly, money wouldn't be a big issue in my life if I already had $17bn.
From what ive read Jayne, he lives in a very modest house just round the corner from the offices where Facebook is based, and walks to work every day in jeans and trainers- doesn't sound like a money driven bloke to me.
And he has a very laid back attitude with his staff.

Isn't 17bn what he's worth?
"So the $17bn ... he's what ... given it away"

Half of it, yes. he's one of the founders of the giving pledge (along with Bill gates) so he has agreed to give half of his wealth to charity (along with $100 million he's already given to his local schools)
No. i don't think google+ will be any competition
Fairy Nuff x
And....we have no idea what he might have given away. Not everyone publicises what they do with their money!!

I don't know the right wording for it but he also gives young computer programme writers (?) a platform.
Lol...there you go!!
