Once again the criminal is treated by our justice system better than their victims are.
/// "He chose to misuse his time here by committing offences, the most serious of which was rape." ///
/// But the judge added that Semo's motivations for marriage were "immaterial", concluding: "With considerable reluctance, I have to say he must be allowed to marry. That means there will be a prohibition against removing him." ///
Obviously it seems to matter not, whether this marriage seems to be a 'marriage of convenience'.

One of the problems is that ANYONE from an EU country can come here (say from Lithuania or Slovenia) and then marry a person NOT from the EU (say from Africa) and the African is allowed to stay in the UK.
So this is ripe for corruption, with poor Latvian and Slovenian women coming here, and being paid to marry any non EU national just for the cash.
They can then go back to their country somewhat richer, and we are stuck with an unwanted African (or other non EU person).
Yet another example of how we can no longer control who comes and stays here, dragging this country down to 3rd world levels.

I have heard of these little churches/chapels taking bungs to conduct lots of these women from poor European country, man from Asia/Africa marriages.A number of sharp practise, backstreet Law firms, beavering away behind the scenes. If dangerous criminals like Semo can easily find the loopholes, and slip through the net, then a wide-spread investigation is needed to stamp this out.
