Yes or No answers?
41 Answers
When a question is asked on AnswerBank, why do some ABers go to the trouble of just typing 'YES' or 'NO'.
If they can't put together a legitimate argument for their decision, why do they bother answering in the first place?

I blame the question posters. Say you want a discussion on youth unemployment. There are twoways of asking the the question.
1. Should the Government do something about youth unemployment?
2. What should the Government do about youth unemployment?
Question 1. Can be answered with a one word yes (or No), but question 2 invites a discussion and asks for opinions.

People come on here for their own reasons. Some like to be part of a community or just fancy a little company. Even if they haven't a lot to contribute they may derive some pleasure in just belonging.
Good luck to anyone who comes on, unless they want to preach or show off.
By the way Yes or No are not the only answers. The other is Kiss my ****.

Question : Should Indigenous peoples be treated differentially?

Question : Should parental consent be required for underage pregnant women to have abortions?
I think that clears that one up.

Not 'everyone's'
Only those who would would rather play out their rather childish games, than join in a more mature and intelligent debate.
These individuals are ruining this once enjoyable and recreational site, and turning it into a type of junior classroom activity, that of writing naughty things on scraps of paper and passing them amongst their equally silly friends.
