I read less than one paper to get a balanced view

Good answer D - it just seems that some AB'ers have only one source, so I wonder can they get a balanced view of things?
Haven't looked at a daily paper in years. There's so many other places to get news and information.
I think certain ABers read the same paper twice to ensure balance - they have a chip on each shoulder ...
I buy the Daily Mail because I like their puzzle pull out,but cant say i particularly subscribe to their views.I like to make my own mind up from TV Radio etc.
Yes. The Times, The Telegraph ,The Guardian and The Sun. I feel the last gives me the most balanced view. Today, for example, Lucy, 22, from Birmingham, says that hearing Adele sing had her call to mind what Nietzsche once said of music viz. "Without music life would be a mistake"

Yes ginge - but you can see papers online - right?
My paper bill is hefty enough already. I get the Daily Mail plus a daily local
paper. And there are magazines and puzzle books on top of that.
Guardian everyday..for Great in-depth coverage,Sport,and Cryptic,of coures..

My better/half,usually brings home the Toryrag..and I shake my head,in dismany, and chortle at the stuck-up twits the employ as "Journos"!

Then I "knock-out" the Cryptic..in 8-15 mins..
I get the Daily Mail delivered Monday to Saturday. I like the pull-out puzzles section, the cartoons and a couple of other bits. I don't read the news as it just makes me more confused and frustrated about the world. I glance at the news bits only to update myself as to what is happening.

I also read the local paper twice a week - stuff like "lost cat" or "cat stuck up tree". The sort of story where there is no political slant injected by the reporter.
I don't purchase any newspapers but I do read on line.

And if I am one of those you sheepishly denounced for only reading the Daily Mail, I will take this opportunity to announce that I read most of the news sites and post from various sources at various times.

I must admit to using the DM more often than any others, because it will often report on topical and controversial issues that some, according to their political leanings, will choose to sweep under the carpet.

Incidentally many who criticise the DM almost on a daily basis, will systematically use their site also, if they are reporting on an issue that fits their own particular agenda.

This to me is hypocrisy at it's worse.

Just to use a couple of cliches (god of your choice forbid) some peoplw seem to 'protest too much' based on their main paper, and others couldn't give a rats ass.
I get the Daily Mail................I like the crosswords, cartoons, gossip, and sports coverage, I don't bother with the News bits.
I do not buy a newspaper anymore.

Firstly I read the Daily Telegraph. And the BBC. I have started to look at the Mail just to anticipate AOGs questions. If I have time on my hands, the Guardian will get a look. If anything international is going on , I will look at the New York Times, Al jazeera and the Jerusalem Post. There are a couple of regular blogs I go to as well.
If you want to see British reporting in its true light watch RT (Russian Times) on Sky. Each country reports the news as it sees it and you may get the impression all foreign news stories are controlled by their own goverrnments.

For me, I like the writing style of the Independent and Observer. The Guardian I read occasionally, but I often get the impression that it's overly pandering to my liberal/left of centre views.

The Telegraph has the best cryptic crossword (ie. the only one I can complete)

AOG - re: quoting from the Daily Mail...I can't answer for others, but I myself will link to the Daily Mail, because no-one can *then* accuse me of using sources with a left wing bias on the story.

It also saves time. If a story is published in the Observer, with a leftish spin on it, eventually, during the thread, someone will post a link to the Mail, or Express.

Cutting to the chase saves time.
If I were to post a link from the Guardian or Observer, the right would instantly dismiss it because of the source. So it saves time and means you are likely to get a reply if you quote from the Daily Mail. It is disappointing when certain people choose to disbelieve their own paper when it doesn't follow their own agenda.
With TV and Internet I haven't bought a newspaper for years and am unlikely to start now.
Like some of the others, I buy the Mail but pull out the puzzle section and discard the rest, unless it's Money Mail day, then I'll ave a nosey at that.
