The animal kingdom still knows much more about disciplining it's young, that some of their human counterparts tend to ignore.

Great pictures.

That cub should be taken away from his brute of a mother and placed under the care of social services.
So animals feel guilty after shouting at their offspring too.
I don't think it's something we as parents has lost a.o.g. its whats been put in place by the so-called punishment brigade, the minority of children have no respect for their parents what so ever, you hear stories of children belting their parents, stealing from them & there is nothing the parent can do, you cannot smack them as that's illegal, the teachers can not cane them as its against the law, it no wonder the crime rate is up, the answer, they stopped it in the 40s, conscription but that can not now be done in case some so called hard men gets their feet wet.
Yeah, we have a new system now.
Don't discipline kids at all. Wait 'till they're older and completely out of control, and then bang them up. Apparently, that demonstrates how civilised we are.
As it should be, discipline and love hand in hand.
Smacking is NOT illegal.

Until animals can talk I think they have no choice in how they discipline their young.

The majority of youngters I know have respect for their parents, teachers, and adults in general.

The older generation need to stop judging the youth of today by the minority. The minority that always existed and always will.
I never threw jno jnr against a stone wall, or even smacked him. He's grown up fine.

ummmm, I suppose bears must be able to talk bear language of some kind? Possibly nothing as complex as "Who's been eating my porridge?" but at least enough to warn their young not to step into bear traps etc.
Unfortunately 11million children being generally well behaved and well mannered doesn't make the news, 1 child being involved in a crime does and as has been shown on here over and over some people can't distinguish the difference between one and everyone.
Excellent photo's.
Smacking is NOT illegal, I think you will find Ummmm if a child reports the incident to the police action could follow.
I want to know which newsagents stock copies of "Practical Kittening" magazine. How do cats know how to bring up their kittens without reading expert advice?
What is your point exactly aog ? Are you saying we don't shout or roar at our infants any more? Or are you trying to make a case for corporal punishment ?
What this bear does doesn't appear to hurt the youngster in the slightest; the idea is to frighten it by noise and disorientation. Indeed, can you cite an example from the animal kingdom where parents wound or injure their young by way of discipline ?
I think you'll find TWR that if a child is smacked for a legitimate reason and isn't left with a lasting mark..ie, bruises...nothing will be done.

This is what happens in the real world. It may not happen in the tabloids...but it does in real life.
if i mis be haved as a child i got a good hiding i cant really condone it
No way to treat a child...

From where did you obtain your numbers from Chuck??
Once it was thought perfectly right for a man to discipline his wife with a stick.

Doublessly there were Ye Olde Gits in the 18th Century bemoaning the passing of this too

Foresooth t'is the Political verassitude of Bedlum!

I dare say big male bears take a swipe at small female ones too!

Oh dear. why do you have to take things to their extremes?

I was merely using some very good photographs to highlight the act that some parents are a little lacking in their natural instinct of bringing up their children.

But it appears you are one of those who choose to turn a gentle tap of chastisement into child brutality, this kind of over the top attitude is responsible for some of the the problems of today's young.
aog, you are truely inspirational, your ability to read things into a post that simply don't exist is awesome.
