She was sober her partner was as pi$$ed as you can get!! Agree BDW.
I am a crumblie but I have never been able to stand screaming kids, especially in pubs. There used to be a prohibition on children under 14 in bars.
Some pubs. (I think it is Whitbread's chain) won't have children or babies on the premises. Look out for those. I don't go near some places at the weekend because I know as a single or with one friend I am going to be over-run. I feel sorry for mongos-bird. You wanmt to see in the 'ladies' of places - often the icky nappies are dumped in cubicles. I must point out though that a lot of the single men who whinge now turn into fathers later on, letting their sprogs loose on society!
flaming - there still is a prohibition of under 14s in bars. A bar is a room wholly or mainly used for the sale of liquor (simplified wording). If it is a dining room for example, the pub can argue that selling drink is a secondary use.

We have to pay the police and teachers to spend a large proportion of their time teaching kids how to behave. Seeing them with some of their parents, I understand why.
