Parties need to get funding from somewhere. If a large donation ensures a dinner party invite, so what?

The wealth creators have, as a rule, always backed the right, and the unions have always backed the left. Both provide funding. Both could suggest policy.

Labour have had the same arrangement since they started. In return for funding the party, the unions have always had special access to a Labour government and input to its policies.
