If the police know about these black gangs who are running riot all over our capital city, why are they not rounding them all up, and putting them out of harms way?

Trouble is AOG there are too many of these types of gangs (Jamacian, Somalian, Chinese, Asian, plus our "home grown" gangs) for the police to deal with them.
Though I am generally a tory supporter I do think their plan to reduce the police numbers is a huge mistake, we should be increasing our police numbers as crime is on the increase, particulalry serious crime (despite what the police may say with their "official reports" - how many people dont bother to report a crime as they know nothing will be done about it).

Afternoon AOG,

It sounds like they've got a good handle on it, but it's a process and sadly this kind of random violence cannot be prevented.

Your solution is not really viable AOG, because 'running riot' is not actualy an arrrestable offence.
The answer - yet again - lies in education, and that's education at the nursery end, not the university end.
Young people who are not taught self-respect and respect for others tend to seek affirmation in their peer groups, which can often lead to gang membership.
Disaffected youths look for 'respect' in the gang culture because their affirmation was not put in place early in their lives.
It's no use badn-aiding the issue when these people are teenagers, they need to be taught proper values as small children, but that takes money, and the government will never invest in it, because children don't vote.

ummmm - yes I do believe it, because if all children arer brought up with respect, there will be few, if any gangs for them to join.
Gang culture is rife because a sense of belonging is absent - provide one, and you negate the other.
Of course this is not an overnight solution, it will take two or three generations for the parenting skills including involvement, affirmation and a sense of self-worth to filter through, but surely we have to make a start somewhere.
Successive governments' contempt of vital and fundamental nursery care is demonstrated by an endless selection of young girls who fall into nursery nursing because they have no career aspiration,s but a vague idea that they quite like children, and they can tolerate a minimum wage.
If the government put as much focus on that end of education as it does on its obsession that everyone wants to go to university, you would see a complete change in the staffing standards of nurseries, and a start in the vital education of children as valuable people in their own right - the first step towards building a genuinely inclusive society, instead of the nonsense the government puts forward.
Yes Mr Cameron, society is indeed 'broken', but is your government going to be the first one to assess the issues correctly, and apply budgets and support where they are really needed to start to fix it?
Yes it will take several generations and you will not live to see the fruits of your work, but are small-time immediate election gains all you really want?
Thought so.

I think you're partly right. Parents come in for a lot of flak. Sometimes though, the child you have at home is not the same child who leaves the house. Many parents are living in ignorant bliss. If it wasn't for the fact that my sons school is so strict, I would think I'd raised an angel. They inform not though...
Very true.
Children will never be angels, that's part of growing up and learning independence, but this feral attitude that so many children have can be alleviated by a simple belief in self, backed up in the home and at school.
Yes it will take time, but society has plenty of that. If we leave things as they are, how will we be two or three generations down the line?

So before these three 'animals' are sentenced next month, will the do-gooders be making their usual noises about human rights and leniency for they know not what they do?
The gunman (Nathaniel Grant) who shot five-year-old Thusha and another customer, was notoriously known as ‘Killa Buzz’, had been cleared of an almost identical gangland murder and released from prison just weeks earlier. No lessons learned by imprisonment then.
The poor innocent child has a burden for life - while these three brutes are charged with GBH. Why not attempted murder? Laughable isn't it?

sir.prize - I cannot answer for any 'do-gooders' because i am not one of them.
The tragedy is frst and foremost the poor child who has been crippled, but that is not attempted murder because she was not the intended victim - that's the way the law works, however wrong that appears.
No, prison does not teach these young people anything, it is probably more or a badge of pride than a chance to reflect and reform.
My response is a concept for the future, and as I said, we have to start somewhere.
I offer no mitigation for these criminals - only a hope that someone can start to invest in the correct areas of education so that their children do not grow up to be like them.

/// Oooh -you said ''Black Gangs'' !! Good for 56 days in the Nick I suspect ///
That sounds a little mild, for some of these murderous and savage black gangs.
Lock them up and throw away the key I say, then at least they will be off our streets, and innocent bystanders will no longer become the victims in their drug related gang warfare.

All sorted then, it is almost as if you have just come out of the inquiry on the August riots.
But just like that inquiry many words have been banded about, all of which contain very many excuses, but very little content and even less solutions.
You yourself lay it firmly at the doorway of parents, education and the government.
Tell you what let's stop these parents from having children, and if that can't be achieved, let's take their children away from these parents and to be brought up in government institutions, where respect and discipline can be instilled upon them, from their earliest age.
That way all your three criteria are taken care of, values, parenting, and government involvement.
