does anybody know how to adjust a speed limiter on a diesel engine

Is it a HGV? If so,It's Illegal to do so. they are usually sealed at the pump when the HGV gets Its MOT or the taco calibrated.

unless its a continental lorry, they seem to operate under different rules...

Also the Irish HGVs , they have their own speed law lol

It might be useful if you could tell us what vehicle it's in.
