The ECHR has ruled that Hamza can be extradited to US. Does this mean tere will be another appeal by his lawyers, or has it gone as far as it can and we will be rid of him?
// The court's ruling can still hypothetically be appealed to its final Grand Chamber - but in practice very few cases are reheard in that final forum. //
However Lawyers do not see it that way and twist it and hand wringing liberal judges (usually foreign) go along with it. This is why there is so much anger with the HRA and the European Court.
The HRA shoudl be re-written so as to protect those that require it and explicitly exclude those that done. eg voting for prisoners and letting foreign criminals stay in the country.
As for this bunch, the US is welcome to them. It will save a fortune, if we can get shot of the famillies then even better.
/// The Home Secretary said new immigration rules would be in force by the end of the summer to stop them from claiming they have a right to a ‘family life’ in the UK. ///
/// The rules will apply solely to cases brought under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act, which covers the right to family life. They will not deal with cases lodged under Article 3 – the right to be protected from ill-treatment or torture. ///
During their final appeal to the grand chamber which has to be made within 3 months are they free to await the verdict? If so, knowing their sympathisers they could easily keep them in a safe house or even flee the country. Not to difficult a task when many of them arrived as illegal immigrants.
Can I just ask - Last week did the French Government defy the ECHR then when they deported the suspected terrorists and, if they did, what will be the penalty for doing so?
The French cited the recent anti-semitic murders in that country as an urgent need that undesirables have to be deported.
// The ministry added that the law "allows this type of decision with regards the 'urgent need for state security or public safety' or 'conduct likely to harm the fundamental interests of the state.'" //
When the second world war broke out anyone with German / Italian decent in the UK were put in internment camps, even if they had been here for years and were peaceful.
Now people like Hamza can come here, AND preach hate, AND sponge of us, and we seem to have to go through hoops to get them out the country.
