Watching the BBC's question Time last night it made me cringe to see the panel members kowtowing to Far-Left George Galloway, by congratulating him on his recent poll victory, and also stating that it was true democracy at work.

I wonder if a Far-Right politician had made a similar 'out of the blue' victory, they would have been so keen to congratulate him and at the same time praise democracy?

They ought to have just put down a saucer of milk for him !!
He would have lapped that up!
He makes my flesh crawl whenever I see him after that saucer of milk thing.
Didn't see the programme, but I think politicians possess the simple courtesies involved in congratulating a new MP, regardless of his political position.

As to how they would react if a Far-Right politician was similarly elected - we will never know, and amen to that!
why not wait to see it when it happens?
Be clear here I am not defending him, but what makes you think he is far left?
He is an old fashioned socialist who doesn't agree with the Labour partys swing to the right - He is if you like the Lefts version of UKIP not a communist.
He's a slime bag like The Newt livingstone, he doesnt care who votes for him as long as they vote for him and give him power
I'm afraid I can't stand the man, it was his appearance on BB that did it for me !

Can't get much further 'Left' than this.

/// "I am on the anti-imperialist left." The Stalinist left? "I wouldn't define it that way because of the pejoratives loaded around it; that would be making a rod for your own back. If you are asking did I support the Soviet Union, yes I did. Yes, I did support the Soviet Union, and I think the disappearance of the Soviet Union is the biggest catastrophe of my life. If there was a Soviet Union today, we would not be having this conversation about plunging into a new war in the Middle East, and the US would not be rampaging around the globe." ///

He was also a firm supporter of Saddam Hussein.

/// Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability, and I want you to know that we are with you, hatta al-nasr, hatta al-nasr, hatta al-Quds (until victory, until victory, until
Jerusalem) ///
Can't argue with that AOG - I never thought he was that bad.
oh yes and the fact that he did support Sadam Hussein.

He was by no means the only one though!
he is a toady and should be put out to grass.
That's not saddam hussein ...

LOL. No one wants him in their corner :) He's not what someone on the left would identify with these day. And, for the record, I tend to consider myself somewhere between liberals and conservatives (so a sort of centre-right) - and no, he can't stay here either!

I appreciate your problem Ed. they are forever moving the 'political spectrum' goal posts, so much so that one doesn't know one's politics from one day to another. :0)
The great thing about Galloway is that he makes lefties like me seem almost moderate.

By the way - gold star to Wharton.

We should be very worried that there are thousands of people who voted for this traitor. The left wing BBC must have glowed with pride last night.
I was surprised it didn't come up that he and Ken Livingstone are paid by Iran's state controlled news channel to peddle anti-west propaganda.
