No 'the wife' did not make the decision. Mrs Rednapp was concerned for her husband's health, and they discussed it, and he realised she was talking sense, and looking after him, so he went with her on the decision.
Personally, if I was being paid that sort of money, I'd lease a helicopter for the duration - job done.

sir.rpize - I guess it's not one specific factor, but a combination of various aspects.
If I had a lovely house and was settled with friends around, and all my life how I wanted it, I'd be reluctant to up sticks on the whim of a potential employer, espcially if i didn't need the money - or the job - or the grief!
