I'm usually pretty laid back about stuff like this but having seen a colleague's Sun I'm stunned there isn't more outrage at taking the pee about what is basically a speech impediment. Can't believe so many people find it acceptable and fair game in the name of gutter humour.
I really don't know... I sometimes think decent people are fighting a losing battle... but also there is a risk in speaking out... I have tried to become involved in situations in the past... but as I get older the risk of assault becomes more likely,
I do think that programmes like BGT and similar don't help as they encourage people to be unkind by making it seem ok to ridicule those who don't understand they don't have talent or artistic merit... things like JK are the same and other reality shows its all about making the less fortunate look foolish...
We no longer have village idiots we have reality TV to help us feel superior... and so we as a nation are further diminished

Not particularly. Clearly the FA was merely agreeing with some of the Sun’s readers.
The story, referencing Mr Hodgson's pronunciation of the letter R, has led to more than 100 complaints to the Press Complaints Commission. In fact, Jonathan Ross has now defended the ‘newspaper’s’ headlines. Now there’s a GREAT endorsement – the amazing JR.
