Perhaps we should take a page from Bermuda's book, and kick out all those that we don’t want?

Seems really unfair.
Hope he can be accommodated by the local council back in Hull and that he has enough (fortunately, tax-free) savings to cushion the blow.

/// Just a wild guess but would there be any Muslims on your list AOG? ///
I do not want your insulting and sarcastic comments MRS.
Just like the usual AnswerBank trolls, you are conveniently reading more into this than was intended.
You have asked me who these are that we should 'kick out', but without giving me time to explain, you had a wild guess that they would be Muslims.
This thread is about a British family being ejected from another country because they no longer have a job, and I suggest that Britain should take a leaf out of their book and eject immigrants who haven't a job or any means of support also.
Perhaps because this happens to be Bermuda's system of treating our families we should retaliate and do likewise, to their families?
And unless the jobless ex-Bermudians who we eject from these shores happen to have converted to the Muslim faith, no Muslims are involved, so you will now have to seek another excuse for your troll like actions.

Bermudans can get UK citizenship almost automatically; so you can't kick them out.

But the gist of this story is slightly different.
The dad had a job offer lined up, applied for a work permit and it was turned down.
I would absolutely not support a British government doing that because the UK government should not be interfering with the free movement of labour.
That would be the worst kind of 'big government / market administration' that went out of fashion in he 70s.

The City wouldn't stand for it.
In fact, now come to think of it - I doubt the economy wouldn't be able to handle that kind of interventionalism (not sure if that's a real word, but let's stick with it).
Because of the number of young Eastern Europeans doing manual lab...
...blimey - just realized the time. Gotta get dinner out of the oven and dish up before Britain's Got Talent starts...so I'll paraphrase the rest of my post...
Blah blah blah...open markets...blah blah blah...minimum wage...blah blah blah...hard working Eastern Europeans....blah blah blah...something from The Guardian.
You get the gist.
