At last there are people who are prepared to speak out openly about these child sex grooming cases, and thank goodness they can't be accused of being racist or having a particular agenda to air.

One is Trevor Phillips chairman of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, and the other Nazir Afzal, the Chief Crown Prosecutor for the North West of England, himself a Muslim.

Mr Phillips said,

/// "it would be wrong if action had not been taken to protect children in care for fear of inflaming racial tensions". ///

Mr Afal said,

/// part of the problem was that some immigrants bring ‘cultural baggage’ with them from misogynistic societies.///

/// ‘What some communities believe is there is a right of self-determination for men but not women. Women are seen as lesser beings.’ ///

Just read the none news post below after I had posted this 'true' report, seems funny why some ABers would rather enter non news stories, than enter one on this story.
Trevor Phillips has been wrong before on many occasions, and he is wrong on this. The motive for this crime was sex not race. No race related charges were brought.
Hooray! I guessed one right. Now for the others. Do i get a prize anyway?
// I had posted this 'true' report //

It is not true it is just an opinion - one which is contrary to the Police and the Crown Prosecution Service.

It is only Phillips' opinion. Just because it is also your opinion does not make it true. Men are guilty of grooming young girls all over the country. This happened to occur in a community with a lot of Asian men in it.

It doesn't necessarily follow, that they wasn't.
Yes Gromit . . This happened to occur in a community with a lot of Asian men in it. And hopefully 18 of them will be banged up.

Excuse me but the daily Mail report is true, Trevor Phillips did appear on BBC’s The Andrew Marr Show, and he did make those comments.

It is also true that Nazir Afzal was also Speaking on Radio 4’s Broadcasting House, and he also made those comments attributed to him.

Whether or not you yourself are prepared to agree with them, just because they have said things that are in opposition to yours and others own agenda, is entirely up to you.
Just because a crime occurs between people of different race does not mean the crime is racially motivated.

You have no evidence that harm was done to these girls because they were white. No evidence was brought by the prosecution and non has been revealed by witness statements.

If an Asian man thumps a white man then that is assault. It is not a race crime. There has to be evidence that the white man was specifically targeted for his colour and that could be verbal or written evidence, for it to be a race crime.

The same with these girls. They have been assaulted but no evidence has emerged that they were targeted because of their colour. These men wanted sex, so if black, Chinese or Icelandic women were available, they would have assaulted them also.

Which contained quotes that are untrue and were merely opinions.
"This happened to occur in a community with a lot of Asian men in it."

So presumably the community also had a lot of Asian girls in it too, and yet it was only white girls who were targeted.

If the motive really was just about sex, how is it possible that in a racially diverse area where the targeting occurred, all the girls happened to be white?

The view that this was just about sex and is not about about colour doesn't really hold any water.
Gromit . . .///These men wanted sex . . .///

Perhaps they will get it while in prison!
// how is it possible that in a racially diverse area where the targeting occurred, all the girls happened to be white? //

Possibly the Asian girls were not enticed by alcohol and their families looked after them.
flip_flop

They targeted vulnerable girls. Girls from broken homes, girls who could be plied with drink and drugs.

There are very few Asian girls who fit that bill in Rochdale.
more like stalking than the girls being 'available'
aog / Gromit. Stop it there's enough arguments throughout the world without you two constantly on at each other, please shake hands & make up.

WR.
tambourine - perhaps, perhaps - to be honest, I didn't really follow the story that closely.
No race related charges were brought . That's because it's a case of rape and other serious sexual offences. Assuming any were disclosed, what racial offence or racially aggravated offence could be charged and indicted? If any were disclosed and indictable, they would not have been on the indctment, unless the CPS and counsel thought they were a realistic and sensible choice as alternative verdicts. That's the rule in every case. If they weren't indictable, they wouldn't be bothered with except to the extent that evidence of them might be used as part of the evidence supporting the indictment.
maybe they wanted the kudos of sex with white females, even if at a gang-bang
Not confined to Northern England either.

Reading their 'excuse' (they were celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid) is beyond belief for this despicable crime.

I would never label it racist as the word race is relative to human beings. Here they were simply savages.
