Met Police To Extract Mobile Phone Data
from arrested persons.

I don't have too much of a problem with that however I draw the line against retaining that data from person who are subsequently not charged.
Are the Police now being given to much power in this field, especially in light of the recently mooted legislation that would allow them access to all emails, text messages etc? Or is it for the benefit of society and crime fighting that this be allowed?
