It's correct name is the Royal Standard, and the figures that tamborine gave relate to the size of the palace, not the standard. See this website for dimensions of the Royal Standard:

The BBC has just said that there are several sizes of standard and the one flying today is the largest.

No, I haven't had the car in yet but I am only driving locally and the noise doesn't start if |I keep the car below 35mph.
