I do wish the anti olympic trolls would go and spout their drivel somewhere else though.

Is your scathing comment directed at anyone in particular? Naturally there are pros and antis but it does not do you credit to criticise one's choice - especially having been an AnswerBank user for just over ONE month.

Not at all chaptazbru - but that was hardly a controversial opinion. It was an inappropriate directive by MoonRocker to tell people who do not necessarily support the Olympics to refrain from making comment in a particular forum. However MR clearly feels justified in extolling the virtues of his favourite sportspeople, without allowing opposing comments.
And why refer to someone else's comment/opinion as drivel.
Yes, a month as a user is a short time, but it is also enough time to assess the qualities and form an opinion of the poster.

I have no interest in watching or attending the olympics at all - I couldn't give a tinker's cuss which African beats which African in the 10,000 metres, who can row a boat quicker than somebody else, who can jump furthest in a sandpit, or which Australian can doggy paddle faster than another Australian.
I'm dreading my commute into London Bridge.
This doesn't make me a troll - all it in fact makes me is somebody who couldn't give a monkey's apart from my commute being more hellish than it usually is.
I get a bit annoyed with people who think anybody who either opposes or doesn't care about the Olympics is more evil than the bastard offspring of Polly Toynbee and Gary Glitter.

I just find it annoying when people pass rediculous comments just to annoy others. That's the definition of trolling. For example there is some ridiculous comment about zola bud above, classic trolling comment. I may be new here but I'm not new to dealing with this sort of thing. If you don't like the subject then don't comment simply to annoy others. eg "don't care", fine but why comment at all? There are lots of things I find inane but I don't seek out discussions just so I can pass a trolling comment. I thought that this site was a place to have sensible discussions especially in news but it seems that there are idiots who like to disrupt everywhere.
