How come someone of mixed race is habitually referred to as black? Half or quarter black plus half or three quarter white does not equate black.

Daisy, Ferdinand looks black to me! So does President Obama, whose mother was a white woman from Kansas . And it's really how they see themselves , as well as how they appear to others, quite regardless of whether they have one white parent and one black one.

It is clear that Ferdinand and Terry have no respect for each other. The handshake would not have been genuine and so is misleading. People want this swept under the carpet and Ferdinand shaking hands with someone who has abused him is supposed to put an end to the matter. It is clear that not everyone agrees that this is successfully concluded. Of course presenting the victim as the villian is nothing new to people with a racist and bigotted agenda to push.

Oh so now if anyone comments on a player (who happens to be of mixed race) refusing to shake hands with two other players one who happens to be white, one who happens to be of mixed race, then one is "A RACIST BIGOT IDIOTS WITH THEIR OWN AGENDA TO PUSH". LOL

If you had raised a similar question when Wayne Bridge refused to shake Mr Terry's hand, then you would be free to swat away any accusations that you only raised THIS question because of Mr Ferdinand's racial background.

It was a pretty massive story about 18 months or so ago. John Terry had formed a relationship with Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend. Wayne then refused to shake his hand at their team's subsequent fixture.

Was he too bringing the game into disrepute?

I am not going back into records for you or anyone else, just to prove me not guilty of something or other, that I am already not guilty of anyway.

I seem to remember something of that affair, but cannot remember if or not I posted on it, I can't even remember if Wayne Bridge, was black or white, it matters not.

We are debating this topical new story of Ferdinand, Terry and Cole, not any other similar news story long past, so please don't bother to get side tracked just because one of the 'Mixed Race' Footballers happens to be shown in a bad light.

Could one not equally argue, that when a white person (Wayne Bridge) does something that a black or mixed race does, if you don't raise a question, it suggests that you're more invested in criticising black people for something that white people do (which you choose to ignore).

I'm surprised you don't know about the Wayne Bridge story. It was huge.

So the answer is - how could the FA charge Rio when they didn't charge Wayne?
