Shouldn't William like his brother Harry also do his bit?

There has been much reporting on those topless photos, both on TV, in the Newspapers and on AnswerBank.
Should Kate's husband (who is after all a serving RAF officer) carry out his duty along side his Brother in Afghanistan instead of swanning off to exotic distant lands on yet another 'honeymoon'?
If he did, then perhaps Kate instead of worrying herself about a few photos of her boobs, could become a true 'Princess of the people' by being 'at one' with all those other serviceman's Wives, Partners, Mums, and 'Mums to be' who face each day for 4/6 months anguishing whether or not their loved one's come home safe and sound and in one piece.

He basically saves lives.
What you seem to be suggesting is that he too should serve a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
If I understand you correctly - you seem to be saying that every able-bodied man and woman should perform a six month tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Is that correct?
If so, the logistics of troop movements will pretty horrific.

Re: the Olympic army security personnel.
I don't think it's fair for you to say that 'most'of them have toured or fought in Afghanistan, without proof. Do you know which regiments were drafted in? I can't challenge your assumption, because I have no idea on troop movements, so it's unfair for you to say that 'most' of them have completed a tour of duty (neither of us can prove our point).

No, only those who are in the Armed Forces.

Obviously the whole of the Armed Forces would not be employed all at once, most would take their turn, as they now do.

/// Honestly, given your politics I would have taken you as an ardent royalist, AOG. ///
Which I am, but unlike the 'LEFT' the 'RIGHT' are free to make criticisms if the need arises.
If one is not allowed to criticise their 'Heads' then that is a dictatorship, of which I want no part.
If I did i would pack my bags and set off for China or North Korea.

anotheoldgit...I don't think the furore is about William and his career in the Armed Forces. It is about an invasion of privacy by a 'peeping tom'.Would you like pics of your wife, topless(assuming that you have one ) plastered all over the papers for all the world to see?. I doubt it. Don't compare Kate with all those attention seeking celebs' who will do anything to get themselves noticed. All your ranting on about the Armed Forces etc.isn't appropriate. You seem to have gone 'off at a tangent ' with this thread

I have not gone off on a tangent as you suggest, but just pointing out that the relatives of those who are not visiting exotic places around the Globe, but waiting anxiously for their love ones to return from action in Afghanistan have much more to worry about than a few grainy photos of their boobs being published around the world.

How do you know that William has not had any training in combat?
You are wrong to say that all helicopters are not suited for combat, if the need arises most military aircraft can be soon adapted for combat.
And apart from piloting an aircraft most other skills at a push can be undertaken by other flight crews.
Regardless of all that William is a fully trained RAF pilot and he could soon be trained in combat duties.
Ever been in the services jack or even flew?

AOG--------And people who are seriously ill,and those who have lost their jobs. People in debt and families who have been kicked out of their homes because they can't afford their mortgages . I could go on and on !!. But none of these have anything to do with Kate's 'topless pics' and the invasion of PRIVACY.
