Dave, I was referring to the UK lefties, who resort to name calling because they are so afraid he'll win. I think Obama will pull it off, mainly because US politics now goes on a double buggins turn system so it's pretty well 2 terms at a time so the republicans will be serious contenders next time with a candidate that, now, few will even have heard of. Romney is effectively the mid term contender that no doubt they hope can topple the incumbent but privately they know they are up against it. Vice versa for the Democrats when they put up Kerry to challenge GWB's second term.

I read somewhere, ages ago, that if there is a change of president the outgoing lot destroys all of the paperwork connected to their term of office so that the incoming president has to start again right from scratch. Don't know whether it is true but seems drastic to me.
