£200 million aid bonus

BBC has just reported the government is to cut aid to India by £200 million
What should they spend it on - or what would it fund?

I dont think we will all of a sudden find ourselves with 200 million to spend on what we like.

This money will be part of the huge governemt "pot" so will hardly be noticed.

Great we are going to stop paying aid to India though, who have more millionaires than we do. Their problem if they are unwilling to distribute the money fairly.

Given the police comissioner elections are costing roughly £100 million I reckon they'll spend it on another 2 complete wastes

200 m is not alot, but it is a step in the right direction.

Aid will still be needed by others suffering elsewhere.
But countries that can afford nuclear weaponry clearly does not need further charity.

It will not be "saved" or, perish the tought, spent on anything in the UK. The overall foreign aid budget remains the same so it will simply be given to different foreigners.

no it wouldnt make a huge difference, but it would be enough to at least employ more people and if they have the balls to cut back even more foreign aid then that too would help.

as it stands these immigrants know exactly whats going on here and know that for the most part if they hold out long enough theyll get to stay.

you really think these people get off the boat not knowing what the score over here is ?!

and the more we publicise our intentions to stop them coming here the more theyll flood in before the gates might start closing (some chance)
