Thought I would get in first boxtops, because knowing some on here, had I waited and someone else had got in first, I would have only been accused of copying someone else.

I personally thought that it was slightly too early to be sending out Christmas wishes, but the day after you posted that, I got my first Christmas card, so what do I know?

However, as you've raised thus - don't you think it would be more appropriate to send 'Happy Holidays' or 'Merry Winterval' messages, seeing as we live in a multi-denominational society where all religions, and Athiests are treated the same?

it was way too early in September when i saw the first batch of cards and Christmas paper appear in a local shop. If this didn't drag out for months it might be remotely enjoyable, i detest most of the pap Christmas music, exception being some carols, and the Kings College Choir with traditional hymns.

I realise you had your tongue firmly in your cheek when you put that, but to answer it seriously, no this is still a Christian country, and Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ, and anyone not prepared to accept that, should not be taking part in the celebrations, in fact they should not even be given a holiday.

Not intolerant in anyway, just surprised at the total hypocrisy of some who are non believers, but continue to criticise believers while at the same time celebrating (what?) and taking a holiday while doing so.
