If the largest group having racist crimes committed against them were Asian.

/// In 2011-12, where ethnic origin of the victim was known, 44% of victims were of Asian origin - comprising Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Chinese or other Asian the largest group being Pakistani at 23% ///

And, the second largest group were White British.

/// The second largest ethnic group of victims of racist incidents in 2011-12 was white British ///

Who I ask is committing these acts of racism, surely it can't be the Scots because aren't they also 'White British'?

I'm sure they mean Scots being racist towards the English, Welsh or Irish.
Are you serious?
Who MK, me?
Well I meant AOG but I can't see how they mean Scots being racist towards the English, Welsh or Irish either.

the little green men from outerspace!!
I see your point, MT.

You do get Scots in different colours, though. We're not all white (or light blue in many a case.).
"Who I ask is committing these acts of racism, surely it can't be the Scots because aren't they also 'White British'?"

So a White British Scotsman couldn't be racist towards a White British Englishman, or vice versa?
You mean you are not all ginger either ?
No, we're not all ginger. Parts of us are hairless...
Well given that 95% of perpurtrators were White British quite likely that many were white British!

Here's the actual report

http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2012/12/4963/3

The thing is that you tend to record someone race by how they define their own race so you might get someone of mixed race who defines them selves as white-british

Of course your average racist might not agree and they might suffer racist abuse - The police will then record a White-Briish on White-British racist offense

I imagine it's the loathsome Anglo-Saxons mistreating the Celts.
There's a few shop-owners in my area who are Scottish but not white Scottish, but Scottish still the same.

Mick, it's not ginger, it's rust. ☺
I am half scots with ginger hair and blue skin!!!
left half or right half Helen? :-D

Have a think about the above AOG. (Try not to complicate things)
AOG

A 'racist incident' can be recorded thus even when both the victim and perpetrator are of the same race. This is particularly relevent in Scotland where there is a degree of 'antipathy' between local Scots and the English.

Furthermore this stat is a bit woolly:

The second largest ethnic group of victims of racist incidents in 2011-12 was white British.

First - what is the actual percentage...and out of this percentage, how many were Scottish, and how many English/Irish.

Without those figures, it's very difficult to come to any kind of conclusion.
so the other half is Na'vi, fgt?
Scot v Scot too remember, along sectarian lines i believe. A Scottish friend of mine who says that there is often as much dislike even hatred between his countrymen than between the Scots and the English. And it doesn't appear to be simply football related.
It's the Gingers V the Non Gingers, em.
It's a tricky one. Some people argue a Scot can't be racist towards an Englishman because they are both white and therefore essentially the same ethnic origin.
