Suicide Note "criticising Hospital".....
So apparently, one of the notes said how she "couldn't come to terms" with the hoax, and criticised how she was being dealt with by senior hospital staff.
So much for their supposed "support" to her, huh?
Are we surprised by this, though? Did anyone actually believe that the senior staff at The King Edward Hospital would just 'let it go'?
They now need to launch a full inquiry!!

I suspect we may find there is more to this story thsn meets the eye.
Good to see the lynch mob on here is flinging wild accusations about the employers, without knowing the facts.
Trial by media, who needs to let silly things like facts get in the way?

i think that she deserved to be somewhat reprimanded for letting the call go through without doing any security check at all ... i'd say thats pretty understandable
nurse or receptionist, its pretty obvious that when dealing with calls to the royal family they have to be somewhat careful.
the second nurse, the one that gave the actual info, may have not checked anything herself because she probably assumed that if they got past the first person they have presumably been checked and authorised already so its safe to talk to them - so maybe thats why she seems not to be in so much trouble...
perhaps they were somewhat 'starstruck'...? and didnt think
but lots of people get told off in work all the time - they dont rush off and kill themselves.
'couldnt come to terms with it'? - it had only been 2 days!
we all get emotional when things go wrong - but we calm down and let it blow over.

Jacintha Saldanha was the Senior Nurse on duty, a Sister in fact, so I read this morning. If the Senior Nurse passes a call to you saying it is the Queen on the line asking about the Duchess, wouldn't you believe your superior and do as asked? If that is true I don't think any blame can be attached to the second Nurse.
Ladybirder, I understand what you are saying, but I don't think *any* of the nurses should be blamed.
There should have been security measures in place to stop this kind of thing happening, especially seeing as this is a hospital that deals with the royals and elite. If that had been the case, then that call would never have got through, and Jacintha would still be alive.

I should have made it clear I was responding to Joko's comment the second nurse, the one that gave the actual info may have not checked anything herself because she probably assumed that if they got past the first person they have presumably been checked and authorised already so its safe to talk to them - so maybe thats why she seems not to be in so much trouble...
And I agree, I think that is probably what happened.
The fact that it was a Royal doesn't matter, as I see it, EVERYONE should be able to expect that their condition, when in hospital, remains private. If it had happened to me or mine I too would by bl00dy furious. Were protocols in place to make sure this didn't happen? If they were, then someone wasn't following the them. If they weren't, then a lot of people at the hospital have egg on their faces because there should have been. I wonder if we'll ever know.
The blame for this tragedy lies with the instigators in Australia, but IMO, the hospital has some questions to answer.

Oh, absolutely, ladybirder. That's what is so ludicrous. I couldn't even phone my son's school and speak to him, without giving a password, and yet somehow this radio station were able to get through to the nurse in charge of the duchess and "obtain deeply personal information". It's unbelievable... but not the fault of the nurse that picked up the phone.
I agree, the hospital has a lot of explaining to do, but I really do believe we will never know what *really* happened.
