I don't see why; it's private t her. All the same, in the interests of transparency at the BBC, an annual total of such payouts mightn't be a bad idea (though I doubt there will be many).

Voluntary finnancial contribution to a company does not entitle anyone to know about its internal staff disputes, or their resolutions.

I would not be too impressed if I received a payout from my employer - BT - and the information was accessible to anyone who wanted it simply because they choose to rent a telephone line.

perhaps like the article states where other women presenters were concerned it was ageism, though she is only 43. She threatened to sue, so the BBC settled instead, does it make a difference whether we know or not, they have paid out which means the taxpayer picking up the bill

em10 - mo, the licence payer picks up the bill - a TV licence is a voluntary payment, taxes are not, an important diffference.
