The little girl shot by the Taliban for wanting an education is recovering, and a fund has now been set up to help others currently denied an education. My admiration of her bravery knows no bounds. Go girl!!

Two sensible and humane answers.
I know it's all about culture but so it was in this country before women got the vote.
You see in the news women all dressed in black , chanting in favour of the Islamists. In Iran and Saudi Arabia even middle class educated women
do little to change their status , so as much as this wonderful girl wants education , it will make little difference in reality.
Baz, i would echo those sentiments, that many of the women fear reprisals for daring to wear western style dress. I watched a most distressing but strangely uplifting documentary a few weeks back. All the women had been the victims of acid attacks, disfigured beyond words, yet an Asian eminent plastic surgeon is doing his level best to help with treatment. These women didn't do anything wrong, it seems they were subjected to the attacks by their husbands, and worse by their families, women included, makes you wonder how anyone can think of harming a person in this way, it's barbaric.
That is right it's not just the men , we have had several cases in this
country where the mothers have aided and abetted their husbands and sons in attacking their daughters. Last week there was also that woman who killed her son because he couldn't memmorise the Quaran.

Where I do feel for that poor girl and I believe the people behind this attack should be brought to justice. I also feel that there is a lot of avtivity going on in Pakistan that every single Pakistani knows apart from the people in govt. Because they are supposed not to know about it and that is what they are being paid for.

Keyplus, //I believe the people behind this attack should be brought to justice. //

Not with you. Do you mean the Americans?
keyplus i got totally lost in that article, it is so long i am not exactly sure what it is about, nor indeed who is guilty, perhaps as suggested it should be the girl for daring to want an education..
keyplus - //// I also feel that there is a lot of avtivity going on in Pakistan that every single Pakistani knows . . .////

Such as Osama Bin Laden hiding in their country?
////Not with you. Do you mean the Americans?////

No, I did not mean Americans. I meant whoever is behind it and then whoever is behind them. I personally do not have any proof to blame Americans just like you do not have any proof to blame anyone else.
Question Author
Keyplus, Well, you did on another thread blame the Americans. So what is the information that //every single Pakistani knows apart from the people in govt.//?
It is impressive to see.

A future leader of Pakistan society, perhaps PM if she enters politics, maybe even more as she transmits an aura similar to Aung Sang Suu Kyi.
DT, don't wish that on her, seeing as how so many leaders end up being assassinated.
