Does it say muslim males have no control over their salacious actions ?
Fred, //A news item of no interest to anybody except Muslims, and Saudi Muslims at that.//

I disagree. This isn’t new. I’ve seen young children veiled – some of them babies in prams.

//Put it in British terms.//

Impossible. It’s a mistake to assume that Saudi Muslims (and others from elsewhere but now living in this country) share a common mindset with British Christians. They don’t. Have you ever looked at the Islamic questions and answers websites? There you will find people asking clerics for advice on the most mundane aspects of everyday life. Never forget, Islam even dictates the correct procedures when going to the toilet! To many, if a cleric says it, it must be right - and that is why people like this backward lunatic are dangerous.

Well said Naomi.

There WILL be people who will follow the advice of this idiot. I wonder how long it will take for the first baby to overheat/suffocate and die?
Stupid man, the fault lies with the males. They should wear chasity belts of some sort so they cannot rape! Poor little kids. I have a friend and she doesn't wear all that nonsense although she's a muslim, neither do her daughters. She does the fasting at Ramadam and the girls will only do that once they start puberty, but she says the wearing of veils is a personal choice and nothing do do with the law or religion!

I also included the same link, in the thread 'Pure Evil'.

Apologies AOG, I missed that
I ask again: What is the importance to Daily Mail readers, or anyone here, in what an obscure cleric in an otherwise neglected broadcast, says? Why give the story this treatment? Why publicise it, if the idea is to avoid what Naomi speaks of?
To my western eyes the sight of a person (woman?) clad in a burkha is totally alien, as is young women wearing head scarves. My sense of repugnance is probably matched by those of the islamic faith who are similarly shocked to see White and Afro-Caribbean women wearing micro skirts exposing their thongs together with open tops exposing breasts. It's a funny old world.

Fred, I posted this story because I can. Nah nah ne nah nah

I also posted it because the story disgusts me
Question Author
mcmouse, we are not talking about adults here, who can make their own choice over clothes, but newborns.
I once tried a burkha on and I thought I was going to suffocate. Imagine how a baby will suffer.
McMouse

I would suggest that it's not just those who follow Islam who find the dress sense of some young women disgraceful.

When I was a kid women avoided going out looking like whores. Now in some parts of the country it appears to be mandatory.
Well said sp1814.
mrs-o I take your point regarding new born babies. They were doing a similar thing over 2000 years ago when Mary put swaddling clothes on baby Jesus. Poor little mite.
Fred, since we live in a multi-cultural society, it’s imperative that practices which should be deemed unacceptable to any civilised society – for example forced marriage, female circumcision, honour killings, or the marriage of little girls to grown men – are publicised. All of that is happening right now in this country – and without publicity, such appalling abuse would continue completely unopposed.

/// When I was a kid women avoided going out looking like whores. Now in some parts of the country it appears to be mandatory. ///

Wow you are inciting scorn from the majority of female ABers here.

What would you say if someone said men do not seem masculine 'these days', they go out looking like gays?

You are always telling me that times are changing, wasn't it the Victorians who covered the legs of tables up?

Tell me exactly what a '***' looks like sp ?
wh0re
I know peadophiles have beards
Lesbians have doc martins
And gays have eye liner

But how can I spot a wh0re?

Out of interest, whatever happened to the rule that women must dress modestly and have the head covered in church? (A bit off topic, I grant) Is there some direction from St Paul on the topic?
Difficult to spot a *** sometimes, Mick. When I was a student in London, I was walking near the Hilton Hotel when an elegant, well-spoken, woman, about 30, wearing a hat and a couture suit, possibly Chanel, said to me quietly, as she passed "Would you like to come home with me?". I was so surprised by this eccentric enquiry from some apparently unstable woman that I replied "No, thanks". I was so innocent that it never dawned on me what she meant ( and so I've been going back every year since!)
