It is obvious Cameron wants us out of the EU. The budget debate does nothing to hide the petty officialdom that ruins all our lives. He even instructed Gove to change the school sylabus from learning about the EU to one about Europe as a whole.

Interesting to see the split

Of the Euro 132 bn total, 44 billion goes to farmers thru the CAP

And 47.2 billion goes to 'countries and regions that are economically lagging behind other member states.'

So that'll be Eastern Europe then. Still, I suppose the sooner their economies and standards of living improve the sooner they won't want to move here.
i'm sure we'll all sleep easier tonight now that dave's pulled this off
Blair gave away the EU rebate Thatcher won, it's a pathetic deal. In real terms our net contributions to this corrupt club of elitists has increased.
Yeah excellent news.......not !

"While Mr Cameron has claimed a significant overall cut as a victory, the UK's contribution is likely to go up.

The UK's rebate is shrinking from its current annual level of about 3.5bn euros."

How on earth do you think Dave got this through ....what, by giving nothing away ?!...worrying thing is exactly what under the table concessions has he made

Its all smokescreen and mirrors.

zuehl, that ship has sailed, moving here seems to be some people's sole aim
as to the budget, that could keep me in fish and chips till i am old and grey,
Nigel Farage summed it up when he said " It was the best he could get under the circumstances but because of Blairs give away we will still be paying more. "

At best it's held the monster in check. Socialist Hollande is licking his wounds , but Cameron has got a long way to go before he gets my vote.
The key person in this whole affair was Angela Mercal not Cameron.
When she dumped Hollonde that clinched it , Cameron was the catalyst.

strange that Merkel wants to play ball with Cameron, yet not Hollande, do you reckon she would rather still be dealing with her friend, or so it seemed, Nicholas Sarkhozy.
No! I think there were enough other leaders who also had had enough of ever increasing hand outs. Hollonde just went too far and the German electorate had also had enough of bankrolling southern Europe and the CAP of which France is the greatest beneficery. Camerons recent 'veto ' also sent the message that at last the UK was prepared to pull out.

pdq #It is obvious Cameron wants us out of the EU#
How can you say that ? Everything he has said has been to defend it.
Labour and the Libs want to stay in. Labour wont even give us a referendum.
It's the Tories and the country that mainly want us out and it is that, that has forced him to take a stand. Had he really wanted to get out he would have insisted our contribution would have dropped . As it is, thanks to Labour giving back half our rebate we will still be paying out more.

Question Author
i also don't think he wants us out.
"strange that Merkel wants to play ball with Cameron"

not in the slightest

The euussr want the UK under its control especially our financial services sector.
The UK is the Jewel in The Crown as far as the eussr is concerned

To let us think we have a good deal is a small price to pay, she is schmoozing the uk thats all.

like i said earlier what secret under the table deals have gone on, what has Cameron promised Adolf merkel in the future .

and Cameron is not anti eussr, he knows that like most washed up politicians that after office the eu trough is always good to get your nose in (ask the kinnock family for instance) and he wont want to burn any bridges for his future with them.

If hes so anti-eussr why did he bring clarke back who is rabidly pro us being sold down the river to the eu superstate ?

Jeeesh, I bet the brussells trough couldnt believe its luck when Ken came back into UK cabinet, minister without portfolio ...or could they ?!
well whoda thunk it !

well she hasn't had much of a relationship with Britain as a whole up to now. I wonder if she has realised that the German people are getting fed up to the back teeth with bailing out many of these countries and needs to be seen to be more cooperative with one of the stronger allies.
