Bulgarians Coming Here?

The headlines in the Daily Express today say four million Bulgarians want to move to Britain when migration rules are relaxed next year. They want to come to escape poverty in their own country. What are your thoughts on this?

@baz I do understand the frustration when you see many immigrants in the country I honestly do but there is just as much crimes with white kids than there is with immigrant kids. That statement was a bit too much.
It depends on the community and up bringing not colour. The british people and government is lacking on supporting poor communities and I tell you something they would be even poorer without immigration

Not entirely relevant but the only Bulgarian immigrant I have come across was the doctor who delivered our child. Although I'm sure he could have made Nigel Farage a decent cup of tea or coffee if asked :-)

i hate curry, have tried it endless times, exhorted by friends to the local curry house, even the good ones, nope sorry, can't stand the smell, taste, and indeed don't eat fish and chips either, you need to take a mortgage out to buy it round our way.

That isn’t true and I take exception to it. This is one of the most socially aware countries in the world. Furthermore forget colour and crime. What about jobs, health care, housing, education? In a system that is already bucking under pressure, where is all that to come from?

no one knows ^^ and besides it's all good for the country isn't it?
meanwhile millions on the dole, no jobs, youngsters can't get one, why not? because they won't work, are lazy, is that really true, i suspect for some it is, but for the majority it is not. That we are importing ever more people into an already overcrowded land seems to have escaped the notice of some, particularly politicians who will either escape this little isle to sup chianti in chianti shire, or in the outer outer Hebrides where the only company is sheep.

Simple. More immigration equals a better economy. Therefore more housing new builds and more doctors surgeries. Some immigrants will be nurses and doctors. Even better.

That may possibly be true, but is there any sense in 'importing' even more?

Also percentage wise, I think you will find there is a much more crime amongst the immigrants, than there are amongst the indigenous population.

What absolute drivel! If our facilities are under pressure now, how will having more people to cope with lessen that pressure?

ric-ror, those kids might sitting in squalor, but they aren’t undernourished – they’re dirty, that’s all – and they would probably remain as dirty wherever they lived. Dirt doesn’t equal poverty.

AOG I noticed all these were related to radical muslims of some sort. I really do not know how this proves any kind of point. Would it prove my point if I posted links to numourous hideos crimes committed by indigenous white people. This is again scaremongering. People from Bulgaria are generally not muslim and even if they were they would be as much benefit to England as any other indigenous citizen.

Where are the jobs coming from to boost the economy?
There aren't enough jobs in the NHS now to employ recently qualified Nurses and Midwives, and of those who are employed many of those jobs are under threat.
New builds, I assume you're referring to social housing to house all those out of work immigrants who are heading this way for a life on benefits as there aren't enough jobs to go round at the moment.

We are not talking about the indigenous white people here (but why you specified 'white people,is anyone's guess).

We are talking about immigrants to this country, and my purpose in highlighting examples of some foreign doctor and nurse's negative acts, were given in opposition to your rather naive viewpoint that the immigration of foreign doctors and nurses can only be a good thing.

Well I really do not see the problem with immigration. Anyway it's too late to be worried or concerned It is upon us now. It's got to a stage now where the economy depends on immigration. Just like the Chinese depended on the population boom a while back. It paid off for them anyway look at them now. Without a constant growth of population the economy will be ruined.
I'm sorry to say this but there is no other way. Just think of this country in a Great Depression again. Now that would be a lot worse than a few million Bulgarians!
