Is it anything to do with this meteor that (quote) absolutely not going to hit earth at all, but might hit some satellites when it passes us by tonight?

with all the video evidence it should be straightforward to work out the direction from which it came and thus know whether there is a likely connection between the two

And to think the Japanese sent a rocket to intercept a meteorite costine £mns when they could have just picked up the debris at the crash site in Russia. If there any entrenpenaurs in Russia you could see them collecting the fragments and selling them on E-bay.

No. Total coincidence. One is a meteor shower the other an asteroid. Apparently scores of residents in Chelyabinsk broke their own windows and put in fraudulent insurance claims for the former (!)
