Are you seriously giving credence to Mr Morrissey's musings?
Do you think that pulling figures about gay serial killers somehow supports the argument that gays don't kill?
That's an extreme reaction. If someone said, "Women don't rape men", I'm sure you could find instances where that has happened, but it would be statistically irrelevent.
A more potent argument is that gay men and lesbians have found for years to serve their country in the US, and as others have pointed out - many leading military figures have been gay.
However, if Morrissey had stated that gay men and lesbians are less prone to physical violence, I would say he
might have a point - but that's based on personal observation.
There was a study carried out by the University of East London a few years ago, which concluded that:
"...gay men are no less aggressive than straight men, but tend to vent their aggression verbally rather than physically. It also indicates that homosexual men are likely to have higher levels of empathy than heterosexuals."
However, the same size was small. There were only 182 people in the study.
