Kidnapped Irish Tycoon Arrested For Wasting Police Time?

I seem to recall we had a thread on this topic when this incident was first reported - slightly odd turn of events to find that he is now being arrested for wasting police time and making false allegations - so was his "abduction" just made up? And if so, for what motive?

All seems decidedly odd....

according to the story, he is a "former tycoon".
one wonders what you have to do to slip down from being a tycoon to a former tycoon?

@ headwreck - Ahh, thats interesting :) Must be dedicated to his task of trying to convince everyone he had been abducted though, given the reports of emaciation and obscenities tattooed on the forehead (?)

He's supposed to have paid €80,000 ransom. The people handling his bankruptcy might view that claim with a jaundiced eye.

i remember years ago someone had scratched words onto their face and accused someone else - they were found out when it was clear the words were backwards - clearly done in a mirror, to himself ... haha

This is not sub-judice. This is follow information to me - information I was unaware of. It was reported in a paper. Therefore it is news,I asked questions, and was given some useful additional information from headwreck.
