Some interesting findings - The universe appears to be slightly older than everyone thought, there may well be more dark matter out there than was previously thought, and there are indications from the data which tend to support the "inflation" concept.

Does the Pope deny the Big Bang or does he say that it's all part of God's creation, which the Almighty followed by having man appear from a common ancestor with apes ? This proves there must be a god because only a god could create something clever enough to believe there's a god and then write books to prove it, by saying that the god inspired them (or some argument like that)
I don't think your senior cleric types believe any of the standard religious old pony anyway, they just treat it as a career. I mean it took a pope to get out calandar sorted out! I think they've worked out that you can have a life of luxury give the odd sermon, fake belief in something which, unless your IQ is less that your shoe size, you'd have to be completely insane to belive and enjoy the free ride. I've often envied the local vicar and indeed considered a career in the church myself, perfect career for an atheist.
Belief or bisbelief in god has nothing to do with what happened after the big bang. After the big bang all is related to physics, geological and biological
evolution.
The cause of the 'big bang ' or any other reason for the creation is at the moment purely conjecture . The Pope has no reason to change his belief
in an imaginary , invisible entity, just because we can now 'see' what the universe looked like a fraction of a second after the big bang .
