Regardless of what some may think of the Daily Mail or their columnist Richard Littlejohn, should he be forced to resign over this matter?

I read the Daily Mail every day, and I never read Littlejohn's column because I find him abrasive and unpleasant - which is his stance, and I choose not to indulge him in his platform. On this issue, I feel he was essentially correct in his view It would have been better for all concerned, the individual involved, the children, staff and parents, if the teacher...

"Quite prepared to take a chance on that are you?" Quite prepared to take a chance on what? What harm exactly do you think might have befallen the children? Can you even articulate it?
Many here would advocate that we do not wrap children in cotton wool - "we did not do that in my day" goes the oft-repeated phrase. Let em play till dusk, let em go off cycling, all that jazz. Unyet now, these children are unable to cope?

*** I think he should show more sensitivity in future but I`m not holding my breath ***
What such as these first words of his article?
/// Look, it can’t be much fun being a woman trapped in a man’s body. Believe me, ladies, there are times when it’s not exactly a bundle of laughs being a man trapped inside a man’s body. ///
/// So I have every sympathy for the 400 or so people a year who opt for ‘gender reassignment’ surgery to put themselves out of their misery. ///
/// I don’t even have any problem with sex-change operations being carried out on the NHS, provided it’s a genuine medical necessity and not a lifestyle choice. Transsexuals pay taxes, too. ///

Anybody other than me here have any experience of what they are talking about at all?
It doesn't sound like it
I used to work reasonably closely with a man who left for a year or so and came back as a woman
A number of people seem to think that it would be obvious to all the kids as if he'd just gone home and put on a dress and come back with stubble and lipstick.
From my experience I think it's unlikely the kids would have noticed what had happened but someone in the staffroom sounds as if they've gone out to make some dirty money

I think the kid's would be fine about it. My mum (who is 65 now) had an uncle who came to the house very frequently when she was a child, the last time she saw him she was sent to the bedroom with her sisters as he'd come dressed as a woman, grandad kicked him out of the house.
My mum and aunts were absolutely enthralled watching this poor woman walk away from their house knowing it was their uncle, and couldn't wait to see him as a lady again, they didn't realise that would be the last time they'd see him :(

For petes sake, invoking Godwins law in a piece about the suicide of a transgender by bringing up the spectre of Hitler? How is that even relevant?
Trying to draw a parallel about a school of kids being exposed to a transgender as being somehow equivalent to political brainwashing is as ridiculous as claiming that a rainbow is gay because gay pride use a rainbow as their symbol...

Hitler was a past master at educating young children into the ways of his political leanings, why should our children be so 'brain washed' into this political correct way of thinking?
Please describe exactly how the children are being brain washed?
Don't you think that they are being presented with facts, and that's it?
Or do you think that the children are being forced into thinking in a certain way?
If they are, can you explain why bringing up children to have respect for others, even if they are not 'the same' as them - is a bad thing?
