Wasn't sure which section to post this in but seeing as it's News related . . .

What with all these major events happening today (start of G8 meeting, associated demos, Live8 in Edinburgh, annoucement of 2012 host city) - is there some sort of celestial 'happening' going on?

You know how sometimes at the beginning of the New Year, certain experts predict that there will be major events during the forthcoming year linked to particular planetary aspects.  Is anyone aware of any such goings on to explain all these things coinciding?

Yes, ceebee, the Heavens are about to open, a hand is going to reach down and scoop the Isles of British up and they will never be heard of again and in the place there will be nothing but water and more water and even more water...

Um.... The G8 are meeting in Edinburgh. As will all the recent meetings of the G8 there are protests in the host city by anti-capitalists. Live 8 in Edinburgh is there because it's aimed at influencing the behaviour of the G8 (you remember, the big meeting that's taking place in er... Edinburgh). So two of the things you're seeking to link via a celestial event are linked through being dependent on one of the other things... Can you see where this is leading..?
