A 'souvenir'
I can believe a pistol is a souvenir albeit an illegal one
I have difficulty believing the associated 300 rounds of ammunition is a souvenir!
I think it's much more probable that this man is a member of an elite regiment who's had his army career being told he was special and he thought the rules were for the 'little people' that he was SAS and above such petty bureaucracy
Much as I hate to jump to judgement I suspect Hubris
On a practical note his defence is he suffered permanent brain injury and couldn't remember - yet he's clearly been evaluated as fit to stand trial.
Let's see what the expert witnesses have to say
That is presuming we have a jury with double digit IQs now

I am presuming that his supporters here don't think we should have a special piece of legislation saying it's OK for brain damaged ex members of the SAS to keep pistols and live ammunition at home?
And you just think he should be automatically be given the benefit of the doubt simply because he's a soldier.

Amazing how all these tough men who are taken in taught to be hard and kill people -go out and kill people and then come home and are similarly violent
Oh but it's all post traumatic stress disorder - not their fault right?
Yet the moment a civillian claims to be not fit mentally you're all over accusing them of making it up to get off
Seems only soldiers can have PTSD?
